CSU Productions is a non-profit production company and like most companies, did not start as a company at all but rather an idea. But unlike most companies this idea was not about forming a company to sell hosting or offer services of any kind but rather it was an idea that we should rescue online authors from some of the more chaotic sites out there where if their story was left on that site they might be forced to destroy the storyline in order to accommodate a different kind of cliental. So, one man started to pull authors together, offering them hosting and a place to discuss their stories. That man was August Christopher, one of the Founders of the Fort Family Sites. He never asked the authors and site owners for anything in return, he just wanted to make sure that we did not disappear on the web.
It was July of 2004 when we were all brought together but sadly August Christopher passed away about a year after we really got going. Determined to not see what August Christopher helped us build die we searched for our own ways of hosting our sites, depending on the donations of our readers and board members, and so we survived. To this day we do our best to still keep going what August Christopher first offered to us, a safe place to host stories where they will never disappear as well as a community to help the authors out and provide a place where readers could comment on their stories.
Being that we all started as authors before being rescued we are from all over the world. But what that gives us, though, is a large group of people bringing a variety of different computer based skills to this company. Including but not limited to Web Design, Graphic Design, Database Support, Skinning, Editorial Services, PHP and Application Programming. And as our community continues to grow so do the number of skilled people that want to help us continue this community and this company. And as such we will strive to always offer the best of what we have to our customers as well as our authors and friends.
